Phone Policy

December 17th, 2009

While some of this may make absolute sense, it would seem to elude many people. Therefore, I would put in what I feel is most appropriate. The times are a bit fluid, but more so important would be conditions.

First, I have a wide number of telephone numbers, but they all go to the same place. Every number points to +1 4122532956 which is a Google Voice number. This system looks at the calling number, and would handle them as noted below. Every call is segregated into groups

The first group which ideally would be sent as a SPAM call should just reach voice mail. If not, I would most likely ignore the call. If continous calls are made as private and I am wasting more time to ignore you, I would answer, get rude, ignorant and vulgar, and hang up on you.

The next group are business only callers, and unknown callers. If someone only calls when they want something, they would be treated as such. If you are not in my contact book, you would be considered as an unknown caller. If I don’t know your full name, you would not go in my contact book. Generally speaking, these calls will ring between 8AM and 6PM on weekdays only in US EST. All other times, such callers are directed to voice mail. During the allowed times, the caller is sent to a Magic Jack line which forwards to a private cellular phone.

Friends are treated with a lot more leeway. They may reach me between 7AM and 10PM on weekdays, and between 8AM and 10PM on weekends. The caller is sent to another Magic Jack line which has different rules. This line then forwards to a private cellular phone.

Family are able to reach me 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week. They ring the Google Voice number as the other callers, but instead are forwarded directly to the private cellular phone number. Just because you are blood related to me or my parents would not make you family.

In the end, the Canada, UK, and International numbers forward to Google Voice. All Magic Jack Lines which numbers are not public forward to the not public cell phone. Google Voice rings based on groups, but the phone numbers are required for time rules. All calls based on the appropriate times would ring the cell phone.
