I want to replace my phone with a new one because the one I currently have is messing up so I want to exchange it for another one. I’m with Verizon and I found a cell phone that’s free for me and compatible with my current contract except if I get this phone I’m not sure if it’s going to restart my contract or will it just continue on with the one I currently have. I really don’t want to start a new contract. So should I upgrade or no?

It will depend on your needs, and desires. There are cheaper MP3 and even video players with the respective capacity. So, if you want to just play music or play videos – probably not. However, in reality – the iPod Touch is a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant). You won’t get this claim from Apple, because PDA is not hip enough and so last decade, but this is still the case.
Therefore, if you need the iPod for the PDA functionality, then it will serve for the price it is. There is email, web browsing, and photos out of the box. You can also download other applications to improve the Touch to your needs (although VOIP/SIP requires the headphones with mic).
I will not recommend the 8GB model. This is because it is actually previous generation, and when people updated to iOS 4, it has been more of a headache. If you were to get one now, you will be best with either the 32GB, or 64GB. If you intend on keeping this as long as you can, get the 64GB if you can afford it. Some will say it’s overkill, but people said that my two 1.2GB hard drives were overkill in 1994. Now we have PDAs (iPod Touch) that will mop the floor with that storage.
As for my opinion with the 4th gen. Don’t expect it until late September. Also, the prices will most likely stay the same with capacity being adjusted. I will assume there will be the A4 CPU (in current iPhones), front and rear side camera, and possibly a microphone. It will make sense for an ear piece, but I wouldn’t hold your breath. Wifi-G will most likely be the standard. The prices might be as follows.
$200 for a gen3 16GB (they will make them)
$300 for a gen4 32GB
$400 for a gen4 64GB.
I do not see them making a 128GB iPod Touch until flash memory goes down, and in turn, they will kill the classic (the one with a hard drive).
I listen to podcasts that may last from 4 minutes to 15 and hate to keep going back to reset it to play the next one. Is there anyway to set my iPod Nano 2nd generation to play one after the other in a continuously fashion so I can set it and forget it? Thanks!
